UPANAYANAM FOR VEDA VIDYAARTHIS AND OLD AGE HOME INAGURATION:
With the blessings of His Holiness Sree Sree Sree Yatiraja Ramanuja Jeeyar Swami, the present pontiff of Madhuramangalam Emperumaanar Jeeyar Mutt, the Sreemutt is running a veda & agama Patashala named “ Ramanuja siddaantha Vardhini” which is dedicated for spreading vishitaadvaitha siddantham of bagavath ramanujacharya.
Tomorrow (28-May-2009) the sreemutt is conducting Upanayanam and panchasamkaaram (Samasrayanam) to the new batch of Veda vidyarthis, who have joined the patashala this year. The ceremony is conducted between 6 to 8 AM in the morning and will be graced by His Holiness Sree Sree Sree Embar Jeeyar of Sriperumbudur mutt. Samasrayanam/ panchasamkaaram is a very important ritual in sreevaishnava sampradayam, which every sreevaishnava undergoes to become an authorized sreevaishnava as ordained in the sampradayam. The ceremony involves putting the sacred thread followed by fire ritual and finally the panchasamkaaram consisting of five purificatory procedures, including the adornment of the marks of devine weapons of lord Vishnu (the conch and the discus), urdhvapundra daaranam, daasa namam, initiation to rahasyatrayam mantra and finally the bagavad aaradhana kramam, etc…
(28-May-2009) After 8.30 AM , the Jeeyar swami will be inaugurating a Sreevaishnava hold age home as a service to humanity by the sreemutt. Swamiji feels that, old people who are not being properly taken care off by their family members or who do not have anybody to take care off, should be brought in to the mutt and help them to spend the last part of their lives in peace and bliss. Also, it helps them to engage themselves in the service of the lord though various activities of the mutt and make their life meaningful. Also it goes in coordination with the saying that “service to humanity is service to GOD”
Hence, we request everyone to join hands in this sacred kainkaryam and take the blessings of the acharya purusha’s and the lord.
Maduramangalam Mutt & Temple is located near Sunguvar Chaththiram, near Sri Perumbhudhur, the birth place of Bagavath Ramanujacharya. Madhuramangalam is the avathara sthalam of Sri Embar (Govinda Jeeyar), cousin brother of Swami Ramanujacharya. Madhuramangalam is referred to as dakshina madhura (then madhura), lord sri krishna took avatharam in vada madhura, where as, Sri Embar Swamy, amsam of Garudaalzwan took birth in then madhura.
The majestic temple housing the divine sannidis, for Sri Kamalavalli Thaayar Sametha Sri Vaikunta Perumal and Sri Embar Swamy is located next to the holy pushkarini, full of lotus flowers.
